Wear it, care for it, use it safely.
Wear it right and you'll feel it.
- Zip it up and wear it close to your body.
- Wear one thin layer underneath, like a long-sleeve tee.
- Too warm? Switch it off.
Power
- Most pieces run on a USB power bank. Never use a power source above 5V.
- Charge your power bank fully before first use; it may arrive partly charged.
- If your bank switches itself off, use its other port or a bank without auto-sleep.
Care
- Always unplug and remove the power bank first, and tuck the cable into its pocket.
- Follow the care label sewn into the garment.
- Spot-clean the shell with a damp cloth between washes.
- Let it dry fully before you use the heat again.
Using heat sensibly
- Wear heated jackets, coats, vests, hoodies and pants over a base layer, not against bare skin. The exceptions are the Heated Base Layer and the Heated Thermal Pants: they're made to be worn next to your skin, so start them on low and check how your skin feels until you know them.
- Don't sleep in heated clothing.
- Not for young children, or for anyone who can't feel heat well or can't take the garment off on their own. The Heated Teen Coat is the one exception for young people: it's made for teens in US youth sizes 14 to 18 who can work the button and take the coat off themselves.
- Stop and unplug if anything feels too hot.
- Don't use heat if the garment is wet or the cable is damaged.
Questions
Why can't I feel the heat?
Heat reaches you where a panel touches you. If the jacket hangs loose or you're wearing a thick sweater, you'll feel less. Zip it up and wear a thinner layer.
Which power banks work?
A USB power bank, such as one of our Cells. Use its highest-output port. If it switches itself off, try the other port or a bank without auto-sleep.
How long does the heat last?
It depends on the product and your power bank, and a bigger bank lasts longer. The Cell 10K holds 10,000 mAh and shows the charge left on its screen.
Can I wash it?
Take the power bank out and tuck the cable into its pocket, then follow the care label sewn inside. Between washes, spot-clean the shell with a damp cloth. Let it dry fully before you use the heat again.
Who shouldn't use heated clothing?
Young children, and anyone who can't feel heat well or can't take the garment off on their own. The Heated Teen Coat is made for teens in US youth sizes 14 to 18. Don't sleep in heated clothing. The Heated Sleeping Bag is different: it's made to sleep in. If you have a condition that affects how you feel heat, ask your doctor first.
